The MediAccess medical volunteer team ‘BEE Team’ held a medical outreach at Gimje Baekgu Church in Jeonbuk State on Sunday, April 12.

A total of 34 volunteers — medical staff and support members — provided 129 consultations, including 79 internal medicine, 25 dental, and 25 ophthalmology, ENT, and dermatology cases. The team filled 64 prescriptions and administered 100 IV treatments, and offered Kind Cut services (haircuts, dyeing, and perms) to 76 people.

Gimje Baekgu Church, founded on June 15, 1925, is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. Despite being a small rural church, it has sent missionaries to the Philippines, Mongolia, and Bangladesh, and built more than five overseas branch churches. Over 70% of its members are 70 or older.

The BEE Team is the only MediAccess team dedicated to traveling among rural churches to provide medical care. It is currently recruiting pharmacists and young medical professionals to serve alongside.
