“The Day I Met Someone Who Truly Welcomed Me in Korea”

On Sunday, May 17, 2026, the MediAccess Manoah Team visited Pocheon Harang Center in Gyeonggi Province. Twenty-two volunteers provided a total of 104 consultations across internal medicine, ophthalmology, orthopedics, dentistry, and OB/GYN, along with 15 Kind Cut grooming services. Behind those numbers lies a deeper story.

Pocheon Harang Center began in 2022 as a small worship community of 5–6 people meeting in a commercial building. In less than four years it has grown into a multicultural hub serving people from 14 countries. Between 75–80% of its students come from broken homes, and more than half face circumstances that most centers would turn away. Even so, the leadership chose to forgo government subsidies rather than close the door to any child.

Many patients seen that day were factory workers living with chronic shoulder and neck pain from repetitive labor, unable to afford care without health insurance. When surgery was needed, the Manoah Team tracked down corporate funding to make it happen. For some it was “the day I first met someone who truly welcomed me in Korea.” Several began seeking prayer and God’s Word as a result of the care they received.

The Manoah Team was founded by medical professionals who answered the late Rev. Ha Yong-jo’s call to medical missions. Today the team focuses on serving immigrant and multicultural communities, and is preparing for an outreach trip to Indonesia this coming summer.
